Paris Eats- The Best Kosher Restaurants in Paris
Il Palazo (Diary) - Italian, excellent pizza place.
Tibs (Diary) - a variety of food, including savory crepes and open late
Kavod (Meat)- This place, situated behind the President’s residence, is in a nice and quiet neighborhood, and it’s the epitome of minimalist Parisian chic. The food, whilst a little heavy handed on the passionfruit sauce (I had it on my 2 very distinctly different dishes- ceviche and roast duck), was wonderful and the servings were incredibly generous. Upon our return, I will be sure to share on the dishes.
Rodchenko (Meat)- This was a Tapas bar located in the Marais district and it was ALL fantastic!!! I will say however, they close between lunch and dinner and so it was quite hard to get a reservation, but it is important because the place is small and it was at capacity.
Darjeeling (Meat)- A quiet unassuming location in the 17th Arrindossment from the outside, in the inside is a fragrant whirlwind of colour and flavor. The service was amazing and the flavours were great but the chicken was a little dry, so I would recommend sticking to the fried, the beef and lamb.
Izaki (Meat)- Japanese/Asian (Meat)
L’As du Fallafel (Veg)- one of the many falafel dispensaries on Rue deRosier but it’s the most famous- Lunch is best time to go. Casual. No reservations, sometimes a wait - with good reason. Everyone goes. Literally. If the line and the ticket seller’s 1000 eruo wad of cash didn’t indicate its value, the people taking photos of themselves in front of it did. I’ll be honest, coming from the land of falafel, I didn’t get it, it was good, but how much better than my local I am not sure, however ill stand by their grilled eggplant without hesitation.
Cafés (Diary)-
Korcarz: A cute family owned and run bakery on Rue De Rosiers, in the heart of the Marais district. Amazing baguettes, great pastries (although parve/ non diary) and the most personable service. Its a very deep cafe so there is plenty of room for a big party or you can do as we did and sit on the street and people watch.
Damyel chocolatier: On Rue Des Rosiers as well, a few doors up from Korcaz & the falafel place. Best kosher choc shop in the world. Nescafe coffees, so at least you know they won't be terrible. Not cheap, worth it!
Reccomendations:
For dinner it is always recommended to make reservations. You can risk and go but sometimes have long wait times that you could have avoided. If you have one, ask your concierge to do it for you.
Adjust your expectations; Coffee isn’t great in Paris and restaurant water is never boilng hot, so teas aren’t great either
