Asking me to choose one dress is almost like asking me to choose a favorite child, so I had to give this some time. Really, it came down to not just how a dress looks but also how a dress can make you feel, and to take that a little further, how certain designers make you feel. To me, nothing can really make you feel sartorial feels more than Chanel. When you own Chanel you own a little piece of something special. Something elite. Something that elevates not just your style but your mood, your energy, your aura. So when it came to choosing THE dress for me, that’s where my heart led me.
There were a few from the latest collection that I could have easily added to my wardrobe but this particular piece oozed a certain level of cool that I’m always looking for. It’s got an edge, yet as a stand alone piece is pretty simple. I’m also in love with tuxedo dresses at the moment, and every time I have a special event I’m always on the hunt for the perfect one. Sometimes keeping modesty laws can automatically drift you into a feminine look, but at heart my personal style has always been quite androgynous, so this ticks that box as well. Styled with these gold boots and statement jewellery is just the right amount of cool I’m looking for, however I can also imagine it with a sleep pair of black pointy sling backs and long tousled hair for a more Mary-Kate and Ashley vibe.

I always go back to Leona Edminston because she makes dresses for real women, they flatter my curves and they're machine washable. I often travel for work or smachot (happy occasions) so it helps that they don't wrinkle and they can be folded in a suit case and ready to wear. But short on time and as long time fan means I already know my favorite cuts and I know my size so I can buy online.
